The Swim team is a new member to the PHS sports family but by no means is it the runt of the group. This new addition to our sports program has already represented Patterson in a very positive way and many of its team members have made their way into sections already.
Rachel Van Riper, Kyle Van Riper, and Patrick Gonzales have all qualified for sections, Rachel will be representing Patterson at Varsity Sections and Kyle and Patrick at Junior Varsity Sections. Rachel has qualified in the 100, 200, and 500-yard freestyle. Kyle qualified in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:29, and Patrick qualified with a time of 1:12.06 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Against Buhach on 30 of March, the swimmers excelled in several events. Van Riper, Gonzalez, Mark Rasmussen and David Klemme won their 200-yard freestyle relay. The varsity girls medley relay team of Rachel Crumpler, Lyndzie Garro, Samantha Pansoy, and Ari Ross won its even as well.
The future looks bright for this new team, congratulations to all that have qualified for sections, and good luck.
