If you google the words “teen gossip” over 18,800,000 results appear and over 9,460,000 results appear for “teen gossip blogs.”

From just sharing information with friends to hitting up blogs, gossip is everywhere. The pointing and giggling that is commonly heard while walking the halls of a public school, usually is a sure sign that something is being shared. It happens in the cyber school setting, too; many students talk outside of school on instant messaging sites and on popular sites like Facebook or Myspace.

Teens are being pulled into the gossip realm. “Everyone is doing it, so why shouldn’t I?” This thought may be one of the many running through a teenager’s mind upon deciding to participate.

Gossiping affects everyone. A common misconception is that no one will find out what you say and be hurt by it. Truth be told it affects everyone involved. Imagine going online and find a gossip piece that is really juicy. You find yourself so wrapped up in it only to find at the end that it was all about you or a very close friend.

Gossip hurts not only the person or people being gossiped about but also those doing the gossiping. Those who gossip usually get a bad reputation for spreading these rumors.

Words have there way of being twisted. You may tell someone the truth but that person may hear you wrong and pass the wrong information along. It is best just to say away from that lifestyle.
