As the prom quickly approached for Upper Perkiomen High School juniors and seniors, the school’s student government completed the final touches.
One of the more controversial aspects of prom, the theme, was decided on by the prom committee
“The final theme is ‘Night in Paris,’” reported Allison Ortlip, who was at the front of prom organization.
Prom is always a hot topic around the UPHS campus, and April found students bickering over this finalization of theme.
“I think that a ‘Night in Paris’ as my senior prom theme is wonderful,” Angela Montalvo was quick to say, admitting that, while the “promise for great decorations and a great time” may sound a bit “corny,” the plan had great potential.
On the other hand, some seniors disagree.
For example, Jess Rubin would argue that this year’s theme is “extremely similar to the ‘When in Rome’ theme from a two years ago.”
For some, the romance and mystery of the Parisian theme brought the night to life.
Whatever the expectations were, the prom was a fun night, especially for the seniors participating in their last high school social event.
The prom, again held at Bear Creek, was a wonderful night that provided lasting memories.
