Teachers at Sierra Vista High School are expecting babies this summer and upcoming school year.

Teachers who are expecting babies this year are, English teacher Melinda Ackerman, accounting teacher Kim Fisher, gym teacher Jennifer Brown, and Algebra II teacher Tina Larios.

Ackerman is due August 30, Brown was due May 7, Fisher is due August 17 and Larios is due September 6.

Most teachers here at SVHS who are expecting have ideas of what they are naming their babies.

Ackerman said, "If it’s a girl we’re naming it Quinn Marie, and a boy Quinn Orlando."

Fisher said, "Yes [I have ideas], but I’m not sharing. We’re keeping it a secret; we’re not telling anyone."

Babies, in fact, are a nervous, most exciting thing for both parents.

Ackerman said, "Yes, [I’m] excited, nervous and actually freaking out a bit. [My husband is] more excited than I am."

Brown said, "I’m nervous actually [for having this baby]."

Fisher said, "We are extremely excited, [my husband is] so excited, he talks to him all the time and wants to buy everything he sees for the baby."

Brown had her baby, Harper Powell, on May 5 at 3:30 a.m. Powell weighed in at 7 pounds and 17 inches long.
