Tonight the varsity gridders will play its Homecoming game against Nipomo High School at 7 p.m. at Ralph Bladiviez Stadium. The JV plays at 4 p.m.

“I’m expecting that we have a good football season this year and that we win,” said senior Anthony Loberg.

The Saints opened the season with a 59-6 rout of Marina High School. David Wilkerson scored twice on runs of 10 and 12 yards. senior Samuel Aguayo also had two touchdowns, one on an 83 yard kick-off return and the other on a 39 yard run

The following week the Saints fell to Pioneer Valley 44-8.

“Hopefully we go to CIF and show what the Saints football team really is about. I also expect a good game tonight,” said senior Virginio Herrera.

Tonight’s game with Nipomo is the opening of Los Padres League play for both teams. So far, Nipomo is 0-3 including a 24-21 loss in overtime to Pioneer Valley.
