The Inheritance Cycle is the story of a young farm boy named Eragon, who is changed by Fate and becomes a member of the almost extinct Dragon Riders, and must battle against the evil king Galbatorix. The first three books, Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr have captured the hearts of many fans from the beginning when Christopher Paolini released Eragon in August of 2003. The series was originally only meant to be a trilogy, but Paolini decided there was too much to throw in and that it was neccessary to write a fourth.

  Inheritance, set to release November 8th, 2011, is the fourth and final volume in the cycle, and fans are dying to know how it will end. The possible endings for each book by Paolini always surprises the public, but that doesn't stop the world from trying to guess. These are some possible endings:

  Eragon and Arya- Will Eragons romantic advances toward Arya turn into a mutual relationship, or will she keep turning him down? Their age difference is significant, and they do have a great challenge in front of them and cannot be distracted, but who else could Eragon be with throughout the centuries but an elf?

  Saphira's Mate- There are only three real possibilities for Saphira( Eragon's dragon) to find a mate, as, after the death of her Master Glaedr (Oromis' dragon), there are only two living male dragons in existence in Alagaesia, and male egg held by Galbatorix. Shuikan (Galbatorix's dragon) is unlikely due to his master, although he was forced to serve Galbatorix through dark magic, and that may be enough for Saphira to look past it. Thorn (Murtagh's dragon) is a little more likely because his master was once a friend of hers and Eragons, but it is hard to believe for them to mate after trying to kill eachother on two seperate occasions thus far. Greeni (fans name for the green dragon egg) is the most likely choice Saphira will make as her mate, and perhaps they can rebuild their race.

  Vault of Souls- Under the Rock of Kuthian, this is the place Solembum, the werecat, told Eragon to look when he needed strength. This place might hold the power Eragon needs to overthrow evil Galbatorix.

  The Next Rider- Who will the green egg hatch for? There are many possibilities- Roran, Arya, Nasuada, and even possibly Katrina. Roran and Katrina is not really feasible though, as if one becomes a Dragon Rider, then that person will become immortal, and the other will not. The reason this is not feasible is because Roran and Katrina are madly in love and to have one live on and the other get old and die would be cruel to both. Nasuada is a likely chance, but if that is what happens, she will remove herself as leader of the Varden, because the mortals should not have an immortal ruler. Arya is the most likely to become the other rider, because she is an elf and already accustomed to magic, and already immortal. She has no ties weighing her down that it would be wrong to become a Rider.

The questions of anxious fans have yet to be answered, but there are definitely high hopes for the forth and final chapter of the Inheritance Cycle.
