The madness is back. It’s time to get your brackets ready for the 2006-2007 season finish for NCAA basketball. Here are some of my picks that will make it on top (or the bottom) for the tournament this year.

The top teams for this year’s tournament:

1. Florida- The Gators won last year, and with many returning seniors, they are sure to have another very successful placement in this year’s tournament.

2. North Carolina- This team has been a team of legends. They were the starting point of the legendary Michael Jordan. The Tar Heels continued this season with an impressive record and the potential talent to make it 5-0 in this tournament.

3. Georgetown- I think the Hoyas will come up from behind. With the help of Ewing Jr., the Big East Conference champions are sure to make this tournament count.

4. Ohio State- This entire university is all about school spirit. Honestly, I do not think that they will win the whole tournament, but this respectable team deserves a mention and will probably have the biggest fan base over every other team.

5. Wisconsin- They are constantly overshadowed by Ohio State in the Big Ten Conference. I think that Wisconsin could get some honorable wins and help to gain recognition for the Badgers in this tournament.

Some teams whose glory days are over:

1. Duke- This year was a pathetic attempt by Coach K to keep the spirit alive in Durham, North Carolina. Unfortunately, a lot of embarrassing losses and the loss of some great players to the NBA made this year very difficult.

2. Gonzaga- They have been known as the team that constantly comes out of nowhere, but I don’t think they will be able to rise too high in this tournament. The loss of Morrison (and his crazy hair) has hurt the Bulldogs.

Area team updates:

1. Purdue- The Boilermakers might possibly beat their first game with Arizona, but if they win, they will most likely have to play the Florida Gators, who will basically annihilate them anyway.

2.. Notre Dame- The Irish have a good chance at making it past they first few games they have laid out for them. The hardest part, however, comes when they will have a probably match-up with theWisconsin Badgers.

3. Indiana- The Hoosiers will probably win their first game against Gonzaga, but if they beat the Bulldogs, they are up against the prominent UCLA.
