Game time with Shelby : Focus on Guild WarsWednesday, October 05, 2005 By Shelby Berti
Posted 10/6/05 Guild Wars is one of many Multi Massive Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), and is starting to become very popular. People from all across the country can play, so you never know who you can meet! This game is perfect for anyone who is on a tight budget. The game itself costs only $50 dollars and is $80 dollars if you want the special edition. It also has free online game play. Starting the game is very simple. You have to register your disc of course, and then make your own character choosing from a few professions. These professions include what class you are, and what kind of weapons you can wield, along with attacks you can use. Once you have a character made you can start off into the wonderful world of Guild wars. The game does have a few problems in towns, and on the battlefield. It has a lagging problem, which means the game will eventually glitch. This only happens, from my experience, when there are too many people in a town, or too many monsters attacking you at once. You can have people on your team, and even a pet if you’re a ranger, which is a very nice advantage. To keep your character strong you have to buy new armor and new weapons, or find weapons when you kill a monster. The character themselves look amazing. The body movements, the armor, the sword, and the sounds they make when they get hit are almost realistic. Buying armor is not easy at all. It consists of saving gold and finding raw materials for the crafter to use, but you don’t have to worry about armor until you enter the war part of the game. The monsters are an important part of the game. These evil ghouls are very helpful in leveling up, and finding items for quests and items to make armor or weapons with. There are many different types of monsters in this game, but your main enemies are called the Charr, and they are very annoying. They often attack in groups of three to five, with a shaman (a healer), heavy axe men, and two archers. Charr are usually located behind the North Wall, a point of war in the game. There aren’t many in the start of the game but as you get further and gain more missions, the more charr there will be, and that can be a problem if you want to do missions alone. The Final element to this game is the scenery. All I can say is it is absolutely marvelous. The graphics are really amazing in this game, and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes action/adventure games. If you would like to learn more about this game visit their homepage at here .
