Senior Pictures: The Cheap and Easy WaySunday, July 29, 2012 By Rachael Oury
When your senior year of high school comes rolling around the corner, you have enough to worry about with filling out college applications and getting your ACT score up. So getting your senior pictures taken only seems like an extra stress. It comes with a lot of decisions: what studio to go with, what outfits to wear, what poses to choose, and so forth. It’s a task you’d like to be perfect, but at the same time just want to get it over with. And it’s expensive! Photography studios charge hundreds of dollars. Arrowhead High School senior Bettie Reddeker says, “My mom’s and I’s mouths dropped when we heard some of the prices photography studios were throwing at us.” But don’t fret; there is a cheaper and easier way… Amateur photographers our out there everywhere and they charge about an eighth of what an average photography studio will charge you. There easy to find too. Who doesn’t love stalking though their friends’ senior photos on Facebook? Maybe you’ll find an amateur photographer who took pictures you love. Plus, you don’t have to worry about booking so far in advance and don’t have the stress of taking bad photos. Because an amateur photographer would probably be more likely to allow re-takes than a photography studio and let you keep a close eye on the editing process. Reddeker says, “I ended up having my friend take my senior pictures and they came out amazing!” |
