I Love...

Music. Such a sweet, sweet sound. It’s like a great escape on a terrible day. And don’t forget the voice that sings the lyrics so beautifully, lyrics that can touch you deep down inside. Lyrics that can make you laugh, make you smile, or even change your whole day for the better. Combined it creates something wonderful. It’s truly amazing the effect that music has on my life. It’s such a great feeling to put my headphones in, turn it up, and surround myself with such beauty. Songs can have so much meaning. There’s a song for every emotion that you experience. It can be deep and so meaningful or it can be something to dance to. I could go on and on and on about songs that I think are just absolutely amazing, but I’ll be brief. One of the first songs that comes to mind when I think of something that has a deep meaning to me would have to be “Growing Up” by this great band called The Maine. By the title you can already tell what it’s about and I think it’s the type of song that almost every teenager could relate to. Whenever I hear it I think about how in just a couple of months I’ll be a senior in high school and next thing you know I’ll be graduating, going off into the world. “And no matter what we do, we’ll never lose what we had growing up...” It makes me think of all the great times I’ve had with my friends and that the little things should always be cherished because you never know how long you’ll have to be as carefree as you are right now. Another song that gets to me is “In the Mourning” by Paramore. “In the mourning, I’ll rise. In the mourning, I’ll let you die...” To me this song is about recovery. Getting over a loss and dusting yourself off and saying “Everything’s gonna be ok,” a motto that everyone should live by. I know it’s hard, even I have trouble with dealing with things myself, but in the end it will all turn out for the better so don’t worry! And lastly, a song that has a special place in my heart is “Safe and Sound” by Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars. It’s a lullaby type song that was written for a movie rendition of one of my absolute favorite book series The Hunger Games . So, because of the books this song reminds me of someone who is willing to sacrifice themselves to protect someone they love. “Just close your eyes, the sun is going down, you’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now, come morning light, you and I’ll be safe and sound.” It’s absolutely amazing. Now, I am a little biased because these artists are some of my number one favorites. The songs really are amazing.
