The Springboro Girl’s Basketball team is having a year to remember, resembling the 2008 season in which the panthers finished 23-3. At 18-2 the Panthers began their playoff run on February 15 th with a dominating win over the Sidney Yellow Jackets 69-28. Then, on February 22 nd , the Lady Panthers scored a simply dominating 77-6 victory over Stebbins. “It’s so cool to be a part of a winning team, with this much talent,” said Senior Post player Emily Dippold. Springboro entered tournament play with the third best record in the GWOC and the second best record in the GWOC South. ‘Boro trailed Fairborn by a mere half game. “This season is one I will always remember,” said Senior Manager Kelly Johnson. The Girls are set to make a deep run in the playoffs this year, and for the first time in recent memory, Springboro Girl’s Basketball has stolen the show from the Guy’s. The Springboro Men’s Basketball team is young, and has struggled at times, but the youthfulness of the Lady Panthers has done nothing except propel them toward excellence. Led by Senior, West Point bound, Olivia Schretzman and Junior Jordan Trimarco, the Panthers defeated Tecumseh 82-44 on February 26th to move to the District championship game versus Sycamore.
