What a come back!!: Return of the Pop PrincessFriday, November 07, 2008 By Ashley Sanchez
We all remember Britney Spears back when she was in the Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, and Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling Keri Russell. Britney Spears became the big sensation that she was due to the show. With her top songs like “Oops I did it again”, “Slave for you,” “Lucky” and many more. But in recent years Britney Spears has spiraled out of control from losing her kids, to ending up in rehab. Lately Britney has been making a major comeback. At the MTV music awards Britney racked up three Emmys. The first one was for Best Female Video for "Piece of Me", Best Pop Video for the same track and lastly Best Female Video for, once again, "Piece of me". But now the singer has come out with "Womanizer" which has scored the biggest chart jump to number one in Billboard Hot 100 history. It's the first time Spears has been on top since her debut single, "Baby One More Time" hit number one at the beginning of 1999. "Womanizer" tops the new chart thanks to download sales of 286,000 - the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist according to Nielsen Sound Scan . Due to her recent come back she is not only getting her life back in order, but she is also getting back fans that never thought she would ever be the same. “I really didn’t think that I would start listening to her songs again but she is making a great come back,” said Michelle Hernandez. “I can’t believe some of the stuff she’s done but it seems likes she’s trying to change,” said Michelle Senter. Julian Vera said “I don’t think that she will ever be as good as she was.” However, Britney’s comeback has been one of the best. She went from cutting her hair off, in and out of rehab and losing her kids, to now having one of the top songs on the chart. Britney is trying to become a better person like she was before but she knows she’s not perfect she just wants to be respected. “I would like to be called an inspiration to people, not a role model -- because I make mistakes like everybody else. When I'm offstage, I'm just like everybody else.’ --Britney Spears Now all we have to do is sit and wait to see what next song is going to make the charts. |
