Class raises money to save rain forestSaturday, December 29, 2007 By Roberto H.
Mrs. Jennifer Good’s second block Environmental Science class has raised $127 to help a Mayan rainforest by holding a bake sale. Class members went to advisories and sold cookies and candies as part of a class project. “I believe as part of environmental science, it’s important to be active in solving environmental issues,” Mrs. Good said. As part of their project, they studied endangered species that are at risk of being obliterated with the destruction of the rainforests. The class’s motto is: “Save the rainforest; save any and all living species.” Species studied included the giant panda, red panda, all tigers, a variety of monkeys, parrots, and many others. “Be an activist!” Mrs. Good emphasized. |
