Six seniors have been named semifinalilsts in the National Merit Scholarship competition. They are among the top 1 percent of students in Ohio that took the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last October. These students are Erin Armao, Marjorie Cantine, Caroline Dzeba, Adam Gale, Joshua Schnitzler and Victoria Stewart. Student raffle tickets must be turned in today. Tickets and money may be turned into Mrs. Stripe in the advancement office. The winning ticket will be draw at halftime of Friday’s football game. The Hoban Troubadours are looking for student-composed original scripts for next January’s Winter One-Acts. All entries must be submitted by this Friday, Sept. 28. Ave Maria Press will award a $500 scholarship to one student. See your religion teacher for more information. Alumni Reunion Weekend will take be this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28-29. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on the 29th. The Homecoming Dance is 8-11 p.m. in the Barry Gym on Saturday, Sept. 29. Tickets can be purchased after school in Rm. 235. If bringing a non-Hoban student, guest passes must be filled out before the dance. Passes are available in the central office. Christian Service applications are due by Oct. 12 in the campus ministry office. Failure to turn them in on time will result in additional service hours. See campus ministry for additional forms. Game Day Shirts may be worn Friday in support of the football game against Padua Franciscan. Picture retakes will be on Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Barry Gym. Freshman retreats will be Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 3-4, in the Barry Gym.
