Due to an investigation by the Los Angeles City Department of Parks and Recreation, Venice High has become the fifth school to have its pool shut down. It will be closed until the city completes repairs scheduled for this week.

Recently a disabled Venice High student, Tania Escobar, received a reply from the California Department of Transportation, saying that in the fall of 2009 handicap ramps will be built in the front of the school at Venice Boulevard and Maplewood Avenue.
