Shannon Hazelwood

Shannon Hazelwood is not only a guidance counselor; she has also been a teacher for five years previous to her job at Rockingham. She taught eighth grade English and history at Reidsville Middle School. The best thing about her job is getting to work with the students and making everyone happy.

Mrs. Hazelwood is married with two boys: Luke who is three years old and Drew who is five months old. In her spare time she loves to play with her kids, go to the lake, spend time outside, and read.

Katrinka Davis

Mrs. Davis got married one year ago and moved to Virginia and decided to teach at Rockingham County High School. Her previous teaching experience has been one year at Ledford High School teaching physical science, six years at Thomasville Middle School teaching sixth and eighth grade science, and eight years at Thomasville High School teaching earth science, biology, and physical science.

“Thomasville is a IA School and Rockingham is four to five times large,“ she said.

Being around young people is the best part of her job. Her inspiration to teach came from her mother who taught school for forty years. Her oldest sister also taught for thirty years. She is married with no children but she has a one-year-old German Shepherd who is their “son.” He is treated like a child and when people visit they cannot believe all the toys and things he has to play with. In her spare time she like to play with Max the dog, walk, cook, read and go to the beach.

“If you say ‘beach’ I’m going anytime of the year,” she said.

Doss

Adrian Doss

Mr. Doss previously taught at South Stokes High School for nine years, Mr. Barnett contacted him to inquire if he would like a job teaching social studies at Rockingham, and accepted the offer because he wanted to move closer to home.

The best thing about his job is getting the summers off and the most challenging is trying to motivate everyone instead of just one single student. Mr. Doss’s brother is also a teacher and when asked what inspired him to teach he said, “I followed in my brothers footsteps.”

Mr. Doss is married with two children, a boy and a girl. In his spare time he loves to play softball, ride his Harley, play basketball, and fish.

Crider

Holly Crider

Mrs. Crider wanted to move back to her hometown, so she accepted a job teaching English at Rockingham County High School. She heard the school had a great reputation and wanted to help contribute to RCHS. She has had previous teaching experience at Western Harnett High School teaching English and advising the yearbook staff. Her first impression of the school was that people were friendly and willing to help and that the student body is diverse and polite.

When students don’t work to their full potential is the most challenging thing for her to handle. On the other hand, the best thing about her job is getting to meet different people and the students teaching her as much as she teaches them.

She is also happily married, has no children, and in her spare times loves to attend church, read, spend time with her family and friends, scrap book, and practice photography.

Gibert

Sarah Gibert

This is Miss. Gibert’s first full-time teaching job, and she decided to teach at Rockingham because a Spanish teaching position came open. Her first impression of the school was that the faculty and students are very friendly. The best thing about her job is seeing her students succeed. The most challenging is the amount of time she spends coming up with various activities to keep class fun. In her spare time she like to watch movies and hike.
