“Our goal is to have fun and make playoffs,” said RCHS head soccer coach Reg Gentle.

As the girls’ soccer team started practicing on February 12, they realized how young the team would be. At the end of last season, seven seniors graduated. Returning for the varsity team this year are six seniors and four juniors. Despite the youth of the team, the strength of the team comes from the number of students who participate in girls’ soccer within the school.

“The captains are the key players because everything revolves around them,” stated Coach Gentle. Varsity captains this year are Molly Paschal and Cori Huffines.

Rivalries this year are Western Guilford and Western Alamance. Hopefully, hard work and practice will make them competitive before their first game on Monday February 28 against Eastern Alamance.
