For most college students, staying up all night is very common, especially during midterms and finals.

Students should choose the right path and avoid energy drinks.

However, some  students are completely unable to handle the stress of significant exams.

They turn to drugs, and not the typically illegal drugs, but prescription medicine. 

Sean Esteban McCabe, a professor at the University of Michigan’s Substance Abuse Research Center, and his team conducted research that discovered 4.1% of American undergraduates had used prescription stimulants for off-label use in 2005.

Why would anyone ignore painful side effects such as headaches and decreased appetites  in order to continue taking unnecesary drugs?

Students should be aware of long-term drug side effects they may face, such as cardiac problems and definite addictions.

Many people ignore any potential risks of prescription or non-perscription drugs, but every type of drug abuse is a weighty and urgent issue.

 If students continue to consume pills, then as they grow older, they will also grow more dependent on them. There could soon be a time when they cannot walk without them.

If colleges and universities do not enforce rules and conduct searches, the future of America will be in the hands of stimulant abusers.
