The Canned Food Drive sponsored by the PTSA is a chance for Venice students to help families in need. This collection started on Dec.1 and ends today. Students had the chance to help families by donating canned foods. Students brought many kinds of cans: canned meats and tuna, canned vegetables, soups, canned milk, etc. So far the PTSA has collected enough to help eight families.

"It’s really important to help others," said senior Kayla Sax.

"It is really important. Not everyone is lucky [enough] to have food [on] the table," said Diane Pollock, a teacher at Venice High and also a member of the PTSA.

"To make their holiday easier," said Assistant Principal Cecile Grakal when asked about the goal for this canned food drive.

This canned food drive is going to be different from last year because the PTSA is not going to give a prize to the class that collected the most cans.
