Cellphone Ban Is Wrong

Students should be able to use their cell phones during nutrition and lunch. It’s a new school law that no student should have a cell phone out during school hours. If you have your cell phone out during school hours then a teacher, staff, or any administrator could take it away.

It’s not fair to the students who really need to use a phone. Even though there are school office phones to use, students won’t use them. It’s just easier to use your own phone. I agree we shouldn’t use our cell phones in class but at least we should be allowed to use them during nutrition and lunch.

One of the reasons that the school administration says students shouldn’t have cell phones out is because many students have had their cell phones stolen or lost and sometimes they are expensive phones. If you don’t want to lose your phone, then you shouldn’t be flashing it around. You just need to be more responsible and careful of where you put your phones.

Another thing is that troublemakers call their friends to go to their school and hang around. School officials also don’t want students using their phones to make threats.

What if I need to call my mom and it’s not an emergency but still it’s urgent? It’ll be better if I was able to use my cell phone instead of using the office phone. I think that if students at Venice were to follow directions regarding call phone use, they should be able to use their cell phones.

Teachers should take away cell phones from students if their cell phones are visible or start ringing during class. If we are allowed to use our cell phones again during nutrition, lunch, and passing periods then most of the students won’t use them in class. I know I won’t because I don’t want my cell phone taken away.

Students will still find a way to use their cell phones. Now the only problem is the new law. As a result students will be hiding from the staff or any adult. I think that we should be allowed to use them during nutrition and lunch because we might get a call from mom that we should be able to answer.
