New Assistant Principal Marc Paez -
Advertising
Marc Paez is the new Assistant Principal on campus. He comes to Venice from Banning High School, where he also worked as an AP. Mr. Paez, just like the other assistant principals, works to maintain discipline at the school, though he also supervises athletic events. He is the replacement for Ms. Brenda Morton, who moved on from Venice earlier this year.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, he attended UCLA. This is Mr. Paez’s 23rd year working in the education field. He started off as an English teacher, and was also a boy’s basketball coach for a number of years.

A memorable experience he recalls was during his ten years as the basketball coach for Banning High, in which his team won two consecutive championships. He also coached at St. Bernard’s Catholic High and Cleveland High.

He has only served as an Assistant Principal for the past two years at Banning. He is a bachelor living in West LA and enjoys reading, specifically history books.

He arrived at Venice three weeks ago. He commented that the “school has been very friendly and welcoming.” He is spending the first few weeks getting to know the campus, students and staff. Mr. Paez said he is looking forward to a nice long stay at Venice High.
