The boys’ varsity soccer team went into winter vacation with a shut out of the Westchester Comets, 3-0 on Dec. 14, but returned from break to be shut out themselves by the Fairfax Lions, 0-3 on Jan. 9.

The boys’ soccer team then faced the Hamilton Yankees. The game went to a tie, 3-3 on Jan. 16.

The addition of a new coach this year has put the boys’ varsity soccer team in a rebuilding season. Last year, the soccer team finished as Western League Champions, but with former Head Coach Joe Hadley leaving for a new home in Colorado, the boys’ soccer team needed a new coach. The soccer team found a new head coach in Luis Jauregui, a former Venice soccer player.

“Our coaches are doing good so far,” explains defender Daniel Siria of Jauregui and his staff.

The boys’ varsity soccer team grabbed a win against University on the road, 2-1 on Jan. 18.

The boys’ varsity soccer team took on the LACES Unicorns at home on Jan. 23.
