For many Venice students who were looking for job, or had

questions about career opportunities they had a chance to get

information at the Career and Job fair. On June 6, on the Junior Lawn. Organizers for this event were Ms. Betsy Alkaly and Mr. Dave Komoto. Ms. Alkaly has been organizing this event for the past five years, while Mr. Komoto has been involved for three years.

This year there were fewer organizations involved, due to the failing economy. Ms. Alkaly was disappointed with a few organizations that said they were going to show up but did not.

This year the economy is slow, so it is going to be hard for high school and collage students to get a job.

The organizations that did show up told Ms. Alkaly that

they were impressed with the questions the students asked. They

also said that their time was well spent. Ms. Alkalay hopes that

students got a lot out of this event. "We hope that it is bigger and

better next year,” said Ms. Alkalay.

Mr. Komoto said he “ hopes students are aware of

career opportunities, so they can plan out their education to achieve those careers.”
