Gondo running back Curtis "Moody" McNeal has recently been offered a scholarship to play football at USC. Several weeks ago, USC coach Pete Carroll called Coach Angelo Gasca, and inquired about McNeal. Later that day, McNeal and Coach Gasca called Coach Carroll back. Then Carroll personally offered the junior a scholarship.

Gasca said that McNeal was "excited" about the opportunity to play for the Trojans, but has not made a decision yet. He said that McNeal wanted to be careful not to make a hasty commitment.

This year, McNeal amassed a mind-boggling 2,080 rushing yards, and scored an unimaginable 252 points, which was good enough to put him in the top five in California
