Both the girls’ and boys’ bowling teams were psyched and ready for a big finale to their season. With practices once a week and games about twice a week, the teams prepared for the Greater Miami Athletic Conference (GMAC) and District games.

“We’ve been playing our best all season and are undefeated as of now and looking to keep it alive to win Districts,” senior captain Matt Lerman said. With the boys undefeated season of 8-0, the expectations for the District games were high.

Lerman, with a high score of 223, and junior David Wiesselberger are among the top scorers in Division 1 of the district. Wiesselberger has one of the highest averages in the division.

The girls’ team, with a season of 2-5, continued to have a positive outlook and high expectations for the big games ahead. “We might not have had the best season ever, but we’ve tried our best and have had a lot of fun while doing it,” junior Nataly Babain said.

The District games were scheduled for November 3rd, but due to Hurricane Wilma, were held on Monday, November 7th at Bird Bowling Center. The girl’s team came in 4th while the boy’s team came in 2nd in the District. The boy’s team will continue onto the State championship in Orlando on November 15th and 16th.
