After a shocking ruling by a Brazilian court judge, McDonald’s will be obligated to pay a former employee $17,500 for his 65 pound weight-gain over the course of a dozen years while he worked for the fast food company.

The former manager’s defense was this: he felt obligated to sample the McDonald’s food in order to ensure quality standards. He further explained that the establishment frequently received visits from “mystery clients” that sample the food for data. Furthermore, the ex-manager went on to say that the fast food establishment offered free lunches to their employees, adding to his calorie gain.
McDonald’s is considering an appeal for this, saying “the chain offers a large variety of options and balanced menus to cater (to) the daily dietary needs of its employees.” Self-control is needed in order to maintain your weight.  It is fairly difficult to blame a fast food company for selling what they have been for years because of your inability to make healthier food choices.
