Baylor Bears fell short to Texas Tech 20-13 in Dallas Cowboys’ stadium in front of 71,964 people. Although they had a 10-point lead, costly offensive and defensive mistakes gave Tech the victory. The Bears ended with a 4-8 season record. The Bears had plenty of chances to score, but failed to capitalize on any of them.

                Fifth-year senior quarterback, Blake Szymanski made his second start of the season. Being his last college game, Szymanski wanted to make the best of it. At first it seemed that he would when he led the Bears to a 10-point opening lead. Then all hopes were lost when it was fourth-and-goal on the 5 yard line and the Bears were down 13-20. Tech’s defense made Szymanski rush the throw to Ernest Smith that would fall incomplete. Despite this, Szymanski had a decent game completing 22 of 35 for 234 yards. He also rushed for a 1-yard touchdown.

                Baylor’s defense still had a good game, holding Tech, who had averaged 38.2 points per game, to 20 points. Bears linebacker, Antonio Johnson played a great game returning an interception for 54 yards and also making a key fumble recovery. Bears secondary however gave up quite a few passes. Tech’s quarterback, Taylor Potts, found holes in the Bears secondary which gave them the 20-13 victory.
