Think back to those special teachers that helped you transition into high school. Have you ever thought of how long those teachers have been associated with Teague schools?

Mrs. Doris Smith, the eighth grade English teacher has been in Teague for 24 years. She graduated from college at Sam Houston State University. Mrs. Mary Margaret Pate, the BCIS, Accounting, and Digital Graphics teacher has taught in Teague only two years longer than Mrs. Smith. She graduated from Texas Tech. they are both wonderful teachers, and have a love for their careers. Both teach their favorite subject from high school.

Mrs. Susan Beaver, a junior high math teacher however, is the teacher who has been in Teague the longest. Other than when she attended the University of Texas, Mrs. Beaver has been in Teague her entire life, and graduated from Teague High School in 1969, she was part of the Teague Lion Band during her high school years, and was also a member of the THS Cheerleading squad. When asked if she had any plans to retire, Mrs. Beaver said, “Yes, I’m thinking about this year. I don’t know if I can though, because I’d miss the kids. Can I just keep coming to visit and not teach or grade papers?

We appreciate all the teachers at TISD for their hard work and dedication for education, and ca use the knowledge they have given is not only in the classroom, but in life as a whole. Teachers give us more than just textbooks and grades; they prepare us for the rest of our lives.
