For years, teacher Mary Sue Smith has taught an excellent group of kids a number of subjects as Teague High School, including speech, drama, and the notorious Theatre Production class. But this year things have changed. The Theatre Production class had complication that could not be avoided. Therefore, all of the students intending to take the class have been split up through schedule complications, and decided to take the alternate class, drama.

Drama is an excellent class and students are enjoying it immensely, but having no Theatre Production class is a little depressing for some. One sad thing about not having a production class is that the participants of the production class and in the school shows are not able to take drama. The reason for this is that most of them have already had that credit and are not allowed to take the class again.

Also this year, there will be no fall show. Because the actors and actresses are split up into different class periods, they cannon practice during school, and with all the other extracurricular activities going on during the fall it would e virtually impossible to schedule practices after school.

However, being the great teacher that she is, Mrs. Smith keeps her optimistic outlook. She says it is a great experience to have many new, wonderful kids in her drama classes, and she is looking forward to UIL. With all the new talent being trained by the best-of-the-best and the veterans of the past shows being able to participate in UIL, the spring production will no doubt be an excellent show.
