On January 30, 2007, the Teague High School Student Council hosted a blood drive to benefit those in need of blood transplants. Physical guidelines required donors to weigh over 110 pounds and be over 5’ 1’’ tall. Many of the older underclassmen and upperclassmen turned out to give blood and save a life. Donors received a free shirt and also an assortment of treats such as cookies and punch. A total of 50 donations were made providing 32 whole blood units. The units collected are enough to save over 144 lives in our community! The student council would like to extend a deep thanks to all the donors and volunteers who made the event possible.
