Tahlequah Tiger volleyball girls returns as a new team ready to play to the extreme and be the quickest team who always will give their best to win games. All girls have positive and expect to win it all this season.

            Being sure to stretch and get warmed up is an important part for the Lady Tigers so they can get loose before they begin to play.  The Lady Tigers start practices by running with partners, getting loose, and warming up their arms. The majority of girls enjoy hitting on left, then middle, and then right. The girls also pepper and dive, they just get after it.

            “To prep for a game I like to hang out and play the ten foot game and listen to music,” sophomore Paige Carnes said.

            The ladies have been scrimmaging almost every Monday during the summer the girls have been victorious with the scrimmages and also when they played in tournaments. The girls got second in the Catoosa tournament. They played hard, hustled and never thought of giving up. Sophomore Casey Beaston recalls her favorite part about scrimmages.  

            “I think the best part of volleyball is hitting. Anyone would feel in power spiking the ball down over the net,” Beaston said.

            The Tahlequah Lady Tigers played Collinsville Lady Cardinals August 30 at the TMAC. The number 9-ranked 5A, Varsity team was defeated by the number 11-ranked Cardinals.

            The Lady Tigers next game will be at Claremore on September 7, 2010. The junior high and high school will be playing. Games begin at 4p.m.
