Where can you find the brightest of minds, the heads of major corporations, and the fashion trendy freaks,? Macworld. Macworld is a yearly convention hosted by the Apple Corporation, to show off their new products and new ideas. This year there were two products that were the talk of the town. One of them was apple TV, which is basically a box that puts your itunes on to your TV. Nothing really original here, but give apple credit for trying. The second, but most talked about item at Macworld was a product that gave you three prime features: A widescreen iPod, a Breakthrough internet device, and a revolutionary phone. All of these features combine to make the iPhone.
People are on the go now more than ever; and those people want their world to be portable, sleek, and sophisticated. This is what the iPhone represents. How sleek and portable? Well for starters its only weights 4.8 ounces, its 11.5 cm in length, 6.1 cm in width, and almost a half an inch thick. So the iPhone is pretty much going fit anywhere. How sophisticated? There are so many things you can do with iPhone: take pictures, text, listen to music, watch shows or movies, check email, send email, surf the web, check the stock market, get up-to-date sports scores, but most importantly make and receive calls. And it is all very neatly organized and put together well. What makes this different than any other phone? The iPhone introduces an entirely new multi-touch screen, so you don’t have to worry about pressing broken buttons anymore. Making calls, sending text messages, checking voicemail, and using the internet has never looked so easy. This phone almost seems made for the texting freak. Ever wanted to combine to different calls? Now you can, the iPhone gives many choices like: add call, hold call, merge call and you can do all of that and more just by pressing the screen. Not only is it featured with brand new multi-touch technology, the iPhone also has some wireless features that gives an edge over the competition. The phone contains the ever popular Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Cingular’s Edge which is a data network for high-speed internet access and data transfers.
Now the question everyone wants to know is, how much is this phone of phones going to cost? Well, just like every other apple product, there will be two versions for sale. A 4 GB version will be for sale at $499, and an 8 GB will be available for purchase at $599. It all depends how much memory you desire for your iTunes. As of now, the only wireless network that plans to launch the iPhone is Cingular. And the phone will receive all the benefits from the network’s reliability, Rollover, and more. The phone is scheduled for a June 11th release date. So the verdict on the iPhone…is a wait. This is the first phone Apple has put out on the market, which always going to have glitches. Though this phone may posses some interesting features, and be the newest and coolest thing on the block. If it’s one thing I have learned in the business world of technology, is that everything and anything is obsolete.
