“If you want the drama for your momma, then this is definitely a good show to see.”  That’s what drama teacher Mr. Ozzy Quintana said when sharing the insights from the drama academy’s complex play ‘All My Sons.’

The play, written by Arthur Miller, is a remarkable play. In this drama, students will endure a journey to 1947, right after World War II. The play has a dark mood, a mystery that is concealed by the characters. No one is really truthful with what their intentions are, which is based on self interest, displaying the human emotions. As a result, we begin to realize the truth beneath what happens in a family and how they deal with it when their secrets are revealed.

“I think everyone could relate to this show a lot, when they see it they’ll see parts of their own families and the all the negative as well as the positives things of what happens when families are hit by a crisis,” said Quintana.

After some interesting showcases during lunch as a preview of what was to come, the anticipated dramatic act launched on February 17 and 18, at 7:00 p.m. Students and parents lined up for their tickets and made their way into the little theater.

The room darkened and the show began with rain and thundering sounds. The audience waited with excitement to see if the actors would deliver a good performance. They did not only deliver, they nailed it; making the audience feel like a part of the act.

The intimate kiss between Ann Deever played by sophomore Maribel Cabrera and Chris Keller played by junior Sommer Carbuccia left the audience in awe. This play was a success in captivating the audience into the phases these characters went through. In humorous parts the audience laughed, in emotional parts the audience cried proving this well rounded and well done play to be an accomplishment.

The exceptional cast made this sensation possible. Cast members such as senior Vincent Rodriguez, who played Joe Keller, delivered an astonishing act considering that it is his first leading role. Junior Joselyn Oliva, who played Kate Keller, did a good job in holding the play together with her intense tone. Carbuccia provided a perfect sense of how a son would feel and act towards his family. Cabrera played her character perfectly with a delicate touch to suit her part. Senior Audrey Tesserot, who played Sue Bayliss, proved to be a natural in her role of a sassy strong woman, even though she admitted to not been much like her character.

Overall the cast was excellent and each played their part exquisitely. The characters were believable and impressive considering that they were students playing adult roles.

“It was a hard role to play especially since it’s an older character, so you have to have a certain level of maturity,” said Rodriguez.

“It’s very interesting to be put into 40 year old shoes,” said Tesserot

Their hard work and effort paid off proving this play to be victorious. Their audience went home satisfied, after all who doesn’t love a good drama

After watching this play I can honestly say I can’t wait for their next upcoming play ‘The Producers.’
