On Sept. 13, 2006 fans welcomed Switchfoot to the Puyallup Fair. The concert began at 7 p.m. and as the crowd was finding their seats they began getting pumped.
Within minutes the band came to the stage with lead singer Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman on the bass guitar, Chad Butler rocking on the drums, Jerome Fontamillas jamming on the keyboard and Andrew Shirley on the guitar. They kicked off the night with popular songs like, ”Dare you to move”, “Gone” and “More than fine.” They also played some oldies like “Company Car” and a few songs off of their recent CD, “Nothing is Sound.” They shocked the crowd by playing two new songs, “Awakening” and “Oh! Gravity” which will be on their new CD that will be released Dec. 26,2006. There was a lot of audience involvement; during certain songs the band would let the crowd sing along with the songs, which made everything more exciting. They were jumping up and down, screaming and throwing their hands in the air. While Jon Foreman was singing he decided to venture out into the crowd, which made the fans go wild.
After a night of fun, the band said their good-byes but as the crowd kept cheering they just had to end the concert with one of their number one hits, “Meant to live.” As the people left excited and talking about the concert you could tell that this turned out to be a successful concert for Switchfoot.
