Danville High School is all about working to the best of your ability. For senior Candice Taylor, being the best is the only option.

"I have run track for seven years," Taylor stated, "but I do not plan to run in college."

Taylor has worked hard and has many goals set for this track season. "I plan to win state in all events that I am in this year. I also plan to beat the school record in the 100 meter dash, and maybe break some more records," she stated.

Taylor recently tied the school record of 12.4 seconds that was set by Danitia Coulter.

"I am really excited about tying the record because it was my cousin’s record," Taylor continued. "I really beat the record, but then they had to add in the wind speed and all of that."

Senior and fellow runner Jeremy Jennings said, "Candice shows the most enthusiasm that I have seen anyone show. She is devoted, and even if she doesn’t really feel like doing something she will, and she will do her best."
