Every student hates to see the weather get cooler and the summer to end. On Aug. 8, Student Council members made an effort to make the transition a little easier.

Before entering the double doors, seniors received sunglasses because "it's cool to be a senior" while all other grades got pencils. Clearly, being a senior has its perks.

The cheerleaders decorated the walls with signs that spread school spirit with phrases like "Get fired up" and "Blue and Gold." The secondary office windows were brightly painted by seniors Anna Bayly and Sloane Fry and juniors Hannah Sullivan and Katelyn Hearne.

The new spiritual theme for this year is "Simplicity." The verse that this is rooted from is Psalms 19:7 that says, "The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple."

All together, the first day of school was seen as a success.
