PDA is not an uncommon sight for most students, and hasalwayseen a reoccuring issue, where students publically show emotion for their partner, oblivious to others. - Jessica J

All of us have witnessed this on almost a daily routine, and it truly shows a grand act of tolerance on our part for putting up with. This is, of course, the issue of excessive public display of affection (PDA) that runs rampant through the school and scars the eyes of our innocent students.

How much is too much? True, hand holding and innocent goodbye cheek kissing are just fine and perfectly acceptable. If only this was the case our school would indeed be a better place. Tragically this is not the case; the full-on dry humping and grope-fests show other wise. This is not socially acceptable in the slightest, and the time to draw the line is now.

Harmless things like holding hands, hugging, and innocent peck kissing are quite all right. These are cute methods for couples to express their feelings for one another without creating mass nausea.

As we are all fully aware, however, this is not the reality of the situation. Constantly we are cursed with the sight of harmonically unstable couples ravaging themselves. This is selfish behavior. The fact that anyone would thing this much excessive groping is ok in the public view is a mystery. It’s sickly and ruins everyone’s day!

Teachers are seen doing the noble thing and breaking up such actions, but they can do it alone. They need you, the people! Now is the time to show your firebird pride and make a school a better place.

This is a call for student involvement to help put a stop to this and essentially better the school over all. If anyone is witnessing this, use polite language and tell them to stop. Perhaps the constant reminder that this behavior is not ok will insight these people to act decent in public.

It’s ok though, Free State doesn’t hate you “PDA’ers” personally. We just would prefer if you did your expression of feelings out public view.
