Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has opened a new division of their school here at Athens Drive with a fairly new Harry Potter club that was established last year. They are now accepting new members and are delighted to have both Muggles and wizards. The club originally met in Remaley’s room last year but Patricia Hornick is the new advisor for this year. They meet twice a month, every other Friday during B lunch in room 2420.

                Harry Potter Club is, “A club devoted to all things Potter and celebrating the wizarding world!” said Rachel Gothard.

               The club lets people come together to talk about the Harry Potter Series: both the books and the movies. It’s a club that brings people those who have similar preferences for Harry Potter together.  There are a lot of interesting activities that take place in the club. Barrett Ward and Rachel Gothard came up with this club last year. Last year the activities consisted of the sorting of houses to a quidditch match and also making marauders map.

This year they plan on having another quidditch match and lots of new activities.

Rachel Gothard said, “My favorite thing is letting other people share their ideas and help plan things because it makes it fun for everyone.”

The members of the club come up with activities related to HP and have meetings according to that. They have many events planned for the year. They plan on having a Halloween Celebration on the 24th of October where the members will dress up in costumes.

The club has around 90 members. Their meeting on Sept. 9 took both rooms, 2420 and 2418. Students were allowed to choose under what group they wanted to be in. their choices were Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Surprisingly Slytherin was the largest.

Barrett Ward and Rachel Gothard established this club last year. Back then they did everything from the sorting hat to quidditch, to making a marauders map and even choosing a house like the book. They have even more activities that they have planned for the upcoming meetings. Some of these activities include a quidditch match, fun, and more fun. There is going to be a Halloween Celebration planned for the 24th of October where the members will dress up in costumes mainly based on harry Potter characters.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’s division at Athens Drive is now accepting new members. Members can be of Muggle or wizard backgrounds as long as they apply as HP fans or are at least interested in becoming one. If accepted, they may be allowed to get a wizards wand.
