At-a-glance

Almost three weeks ago, my dad found a cat on our porch, and this cat refused to leave our property. Within a few days, we gave up trying to keep him out of our house. He now spends most of his day indoors.
He is a bit different, though. For example, he accidentally slid down a banister, tripped over a chair leg and has even fallen while trying to jump on a counter. Also, his meow sounds like a pterodactyl call, and he has ran and slid into cupboards enough times to learn his lesson: don’t try to stop on the rug when chasing a ball.
My first attempt in holding him failed when I completely dropped him. Hey, he clawed me first. Speaking of that, I have never felt so weak when he began to crawl under my bed. I tried to move him, but he dug his claws so deep in the carpet that all hope was lost.
Despite his craziness and my inability to pick him up, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
