A hero is a very kind person.

A person, who helps others, does it because he or she feel they should to do it.

Teresa Cruz is a hero because she has accomplished many goals in life and still plans too keep accomplishing many more.

Cruz volunteers in a home incorporation (name not allowed to be mentioned). She takes care of teens and children (mostly teens) every weekend.

“I volunteered here about seven years ago” Cruz said.  Lupe Gutierrez her cousin is the one who told her about this incorporation.

“The teens here they become less rebellious, with in time they change to well behaved children”.

Teresa chose to volunteer here because it has always been her passion to help people and see families Reunite. Another thing that Teresa dose for teens is she takes them out to eat, and to theme parks.

”I have accomplished many goals just by volunteering.” Cruz said.

Teresa is remembered by her family because she helped Klarissa Bojorquez a mother of six.

Bojorquez children were in between the ages of eleven and eighteen. Her children were rebellious and always ended up here in our home.

What Cruz did was talk to children, help them with anger problems; it was kind of like therapy to them.

When  these children came in for the fifth time Cruz helped them they played all sorts of games also spoke to each other about each individual’s problem and how to make better choices in life.

“We did this activity for about one year and a half; one thing I can say is that these children’s personality changed a lot it was like they were never rebellious.”

“I was so proud I cried with joy.”  Cruz said

“I help lots of children some with the same problems I do what ever I can to help children.” Cruz said.

“There was this one child the came to the home she wasn’t liked much by the other girls in the house they  would claim her to be very “Braggy” and greedy with her things she also did not like to share anything at all.”

This particular young lady was very uppity she tried to put down the other girls.

Cruz spoke to this child everyday and told her to share her things with  two specific girls I chose

It took the young lady time to get used to sharing. But slowly she began to learn how to share. “I was so proud of her.” Cruz said.

“I call it the “Child strategy” kind like a mother teaching her child.” said Cruz

Cruz loves volunteering at this home she enjoys when children come to her for help. “When new children come in I greet them with a cute stuffed animal.” Cruz said

“I don’t know if I will ever quit volunteering for this home and I thank god for every thing”
