“Qualifiying for state means that all of our hard work is getting recognized,” said Ana Taylor, senior.

For the third year in a row the Central High School One-Act has qualified for state competition. Before the qualification of Servant of Two Masters in 2006 and Black Elk in 2007 Central had not qualified for state drama competition in 14 years.

“Now we are taking the time to embrace and become the characters rather than just act the characters,” said Taylor.

During their distric competition Central’s Pseudolus tied with Kickapoo’s one-act Antigone for first place. Because of this tie the place went to judges choice, and Central was consequently awarded second place.

Another compliment to the program was Central’s qualification of three students to the All District Cast: senior Tucker May, junior Jordan Cave and junior Taylor Luttrell-Deeds.
