For the next school year, an all new Cabinet has been selected.

One of the key changes is that Cabinet now has two positions each for dance and spirit.

“Our philosophy is that spirit is the core of the school. We need better spirit and more participation. Dances are a tough job and we felt it was important to have a male and female perspective,” next year’s student body president Amy Wei said.

Brian McGarry, junior dance commissioner, hopes to “increase attendance and get student input to make dances a better experience,” McGarry said.

“I want to sell smoothies, something that was done at LPA which turned out really successful, or glow sticks at dances,” McGarry said.

In charge of special projects for next year is Miguel Guerreiro. This position plans Howl Night, blood drives and “anything for the good of humanity,” Guerreiro said. Guerreiro’s main focus next year is to “expand the horizons” of Cabinet.

“Something I think students should be aware of is Invisible Children and the situation in Uganda. If we have a partnership with students we can unify our efforts and make a difference in the world,” Guerreiro said.

As senior spirit commissioner, Kevin Kring sees the decreasing optimistic attitude that students have towards Central and wishes to use his role on Cabinet to change that.

“I want to change the attitude of Central. My goal is to get students more involved. I’ll be organizing more black outs and give them [students] incentives so more people will come out to the games.”
