Twilight happens to be Stephenie Meyer’s first book, but the lack of experience did not seem to affect her writing since Twilight won the New York Times Best Seller award in 2005.
This book is a twisted romance, far from the average, but we wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s obvious how so many people happened to fall in love with the book.
The book begins with Isabella Swan, Bella, moving from the sunny city of Seattle to the rainy town of Forks, Washington.
Bella’s first day of school is brutal; she gets judged and stared at throughout the day, as if your first day of a new school isn’t hard enough. Everybody in Forks High School loves Bella, except for one group, the Cullens.
Edward Cullen, son of Forks’ best doctor Carlisle Cullen, seems to have a bad first impression of Bella.
With his pale hands clenched in fists, he watches Bella throughout Biology. Bella however watches Edward stare at her with a distaste she cannot comprehend.
Obviously their first impressions are deceiving. She seems to be warming up to Edward quickly, just as Edward does to her.
Twilight will have you jumping out of your seat; you’ll be addicted by chapter two and “awing” throughout the entire book.
But the story doesn’t end just yet, New Moon, which is the sequel to Twilight, continues the story. After New Moon has gotten you addicted, read Eclipse, the third book and the last book until this August.
For all the non-readers, I suggest giving it a shot. You’ll feel like you’re actually there with Stephenie’s unique writing styles. If you’ve tried reading, but you just cannot stay focused enough to get hooked, wait a few more months because Dec. 21 you can check out the movie Twilight.
