From the second I walked in the Town House Grill, I knew that I had been let in on Southwest Virginia’s best-kept secret.

The Town House Grill is located in Chilhowie off Exit 35 on I-81. At the end of the exit ramp turn left, go over the train tracks and make an immediate right. Parking is located in the rear of the building where a lit sign reads “Town House Grill.”

The subtle glow from the lights against the dark red walls adds to the dining room’s elegant ambience. The tables are spread out, and sometimes divided from others by a room-divider, to provide maximum privacy for each party.

Appetizers are a necessity. There is none of that breaded excuse for crabmeat here—the stuffed mushroom appetizers are filled with the real McCoy. The entrees include variations of fish, chicken, beef, and pork, along with a salad. More importantly, the food won’t leave you bloated and belching on the dance floor because the amounts are just right.

Before going, make sure you’re not close to going over the limit on your VISA because the Town House Grill may just make you do so. However, it’s well worth the cost. Easily a 5 out of 5.
