The varsity girl’s soccer season ended in second round of state, after suffering a tough lose to region opponent Deer Valley, 1-0, on Feb. 4.

“After the game it was hard, not because we lost, but because we (the seniors) realized it was the end,” said Nicole Wolfe, a senior defender.

The girls followed up a great season from the previous season, winning 10 games and losing eight. Many players have said through the season the team began to play as a unit.

“The girls all got along with no drama,” said Carmen Manson, a senior. “Some sports have too much drama that pulls the team apart; we were close.”

“The last two games we played were the best the team had ever played,” Manson said.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Eagles, a 14 seed, upset third –seeded Centennial High School on Feb. 1.

The team had a banquet on Feb. 25 to say goodbye to seniors and celebrate a great season. Of the 14 players on the team, seven were seniors, with six of them starters. With the loss of all the seniors, the team will look a lot different next year. However, that does not mean they cannot compete. Fresh-men Tabitha Fedina and Shelby Kline, who were key components in this year’s success, will be back.
