The OHS Eagles hockey team had a hard fought victory over Centennial on Jan. 15, 5-1. This brings the hockey team to a 2-6-2 record. The players feel they’re really getting into the groove.
“We’re good indi-vidually, but we’re not good as a team quite yet. Were not performing to our full potential, but we are doing rather good,” said senior forward Nathaniel Mills.
Some players said that they are finally working as a team and doing more to win together as a team.
“We’re doing a lot better,” said Brett Wilson, senior defenseman. “We are winning more games, together as a working team.”
The team is ranked third in their conference; they also have the second-highest goal scorer in the league in Tanner Bayne, junior forward.
“We’ve come a long way since the beginning of the season. We’re improving more and more as the season goes on, and more kids are stepping up,” said senior forward Kyle Klein. “I think we’ll go all the way; we will not accept anything less than first.”
The Eagles hockey team played Mountain Ridge at the United States Airways Center, on Jan. 10 tying them 6-6. Bayne had 4 goals, and senior forward Gianni Zimbaro had 2. Mills was also ejected for intense fighting
“Were good fighters,” Mills said, “fighting happens a lot ‘cause we lose our tempers easily.”The OHS Eagles hockey team had a hard fought victory over Centennial on Jan. 15, 5-1. This brings the hockey team to a 2-6-2 record. The players feel they’re really getting into the groove.
