This year’s ballot for school officers was very straight forward. There were five positions open, and five candidates.

Students had only one decision to make. Which out of the five would be the presedential candidate?

Ellen Bouchard, Rebecca Altmeyer, Florette King, Amro Shihadah and Jae-woo Jung all were candidates up for presidential spot.

“It was kind of a relief knowing that there was no pressure to actually get a position, but at the same time, you wouldn’t really know if people wanted you or not,” Student Government elect Ellen Bouchard said.

Many of the candidates campaign speeches were light hearted. Candidate Shihadah wore a cowboy outfit and thanked his fellow classmates for a position in office during his campaign/acceptance speech.

“It was a joke,” Said Shihadah.

In the end King won the presidential ballot for the 2006-2007 school year.
