History classes celebrate birthday of first president

To celebrate the birthday of the nation's first president, U.S. History teacher Jason Anderson hosted a party in the Showers Activity Center Feb. 22.

Students in Anderson's classes brought in various types of colonial food for the celebration, which included feasting as well as dancing. Foods included rabbit stew, peanut soup, cookies, pies, fudge and ice cream.

Members of each class, including Anderson himself, raised toasts to George Washington and his life.

Junior Alex Sprungle said he enjoyed the celebration.

"The food was good, and the dancing was fun," he said. "We had a good time.
