This first installment of Quietly Making Noise is devoted exclusively to me. Some of the things I say this year will be shocking, provocative and downright grotesque. (Exciting, isn't it?)

In light of this, a sort of disclaimer is in order. If I'm lucky, I'll bring readers a unique, exciting perspective on things that you can love, hate or disregard as the ravings of a crazed madman. In any case, if you have any sort of a reaction to Quietly Making Noise, I will feel I have accomplished my goal.

Some of my vices are exemplifying fashion, writing, arguing with people, studying history, causing a general ruckus and talking. It's even been said that I talk too much. Hogwash! I would never say anything unnecessary. Sometimes I simply love to blurt out those things that are better left unsaid. I hope this will sometimes shine through in my column, leaving a few slack jaws and red faces in its path.

Don't get me wrong, I won't deliberately try to make everyone angry. I will just tell it like it is. The blatant reality of what I say might come as a shock to those who would like to hide from it.

A few things you should know about my writing habits before we go stampeding into the school year like a horde of half-naked pygmy savages. I have no plans to avoid controversial subject matter, and I will make no effort to keep everyone happy. If you disagree with what I write, it's not my concern. It's your problem, not mine.

However, in the event you find my column distasteful, I encourage you to write a letter explaining why you think you know more than I do, because maybe you do. I will try my best to bring something worth reading to each Visor (starting next issue!) that you can laugh at and enjoy. Just remember not to take me too seriously, and I think we'll all get along just fine.
