About a week ago, I went on a college tour alongside a few classmates of mine. Said tour was specifically set up for our group by our guidance counselor Ms. Vargas. The college that we visited was Saint Joseph’s college, a college with campuses in both Long Island and Brooklyn.

The campus that we visited was the Brooklyn campus.  The campus is located at 245 Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205. Honestly, even though I’m from Brooklyn I hadn’t expected the campus to be so beautiful, that isn’t to say that there aren’t places in Brooklyn that are beautiful, I just didn’t expect it. The main building of the college is actually really old and there’s a part of the building that has been modernized.  The older part isn’t really used unless there’s some kind of special event or person coming.

Diversity is something that the school definitely has.  There isn’t exactly one ethnicity at the school, it’s totally mixed, which is a great way to learn about different cultures and religions.

Saint Joseph’s college is also a liberal arts school, which is basically a college that offers many majors. That means that if you were a student there, you’d be taking basic classes like math, science, social studies and English.

As for the tour of the school, it’s pretty thorough and you get a good feel of the school, even though you don’t really get to see the whole school. You get to see what matters, the computer lab, science lab, classrooms and the lunchroom.

I can’t really sum up the whole school; it’s too good for words to describe. I am definitely going to apply there senior year. To really see if you’d like to go there, or just to see how the college is, you can go on the website at www.sjcny.edu
